Party with Bananas from various countries...

When you traveled to a new place or country, one thing you cannot forgo is the food and special local delicacies. For the past almost one year, I have traveled to few countries, and one thing I couldn't help but noticed is, the similarity of how banana is being 'popular' haha...or maybe just banana flavour (─‿‿─)

Seoul, South Korea

Visiting Korea? Then you mustn't, mustn't miss the famous Binggrae Banana Milk o(^∀^*)o This milk quickly become my favourite drinks during my trip there that I had it almost every morning!!! Easily available at any supermarket or convenience store...

The best of Pretzels at Pretz n' Beanz

Love Life. Love Coffee. Love Food.

These three little sentences, although short, is meaningful enough to what sets Pretz n' Beanz apart from normal café. Note that the logo is a blend of these three elements:
✿ Pretzel on the left
✿ Coffee Bean on the right
✿ The Chinese character "人" (pronounced as "ren", which means human)
The Pretzel and the Coffee Bean are tied together in a heart shape, which symbolizes the their love and passion for both pretzel and coffee. The Chinese character "人" expresses their love for human race, thus they serve people with love from their heart. And thus love life, love coffee, love food  (ღ˘⌣˘ღ)♥♥

I went to the Mont Kiara outlet on last Saturday noon (16 January 2016). Set amidst the trendy landscape of Solaris Mont Kiara, Pretz n' Beanz serves scrumptious, soft pretzels and freshly brewed coffee all day long, in a fun, trendy and cosy ambience. A trip to a good café always make me in a cheery mood -- the aroma of freshly baked pastries, the fragrance of freshly brewed coffee and tea, accompanied by delicious food and friendly crews.

And delightfully, Pretz n' Beanz has it all o(^∀^*)o

The Inaugural Brown Bag Series by 1 Utama; thoughful feel-good workshops that matter

I was tremendously excited when 1 Utama announced on its Facebook page on this exciting "Brown Bag Series" workshop. And thus I quickly registered myself to attend the very first workshop, held on the 3rd November, and was limited to 40 participants only. So what is this "Brown Bag Series"?

The "Brown Bag Series" is a series of energizing, feel-good Health & Wellness workshops organized by 1 Utama every month with event partner Cold Storage. The workshops are introduced with the objective of providing the participants fun activities to learn from so that they can walk away with healthy tips to apply to daily lives.

Now....why was I so excited on this "Brown Bag Series" workshop?

✿ Ever since I was diagnosed with critical illness, I have been more conscious on health, especially on the food that I consume. Less salt, less meat, less processed food, more fruits, more vegetables. So this workshop would give me some great healthy tips for my daily diet.

#MakanMakan Food Hunt: 10 Restaurants Must-try at 1Utama [Part 2]

Welcome back to the adventure of #MakanMakan Food Hunt, yeah :D I hope you have enjoyed the 1U #MakanMakan Food Hunt Part 1...now let's check out the adventure with the rest of the outlets :)

(6) O Banh Mi
Non-halal

O Banh Mi prides itself on making their bread fresh in store. The banh mi (banh mi is a Vietnamese baguette) was baked to a light crisp on the outside, giving way to a soft, fluffy interior, tasty enough to have on its own or with a nice slather of butter. O Banh Mi also serves a selection of other Vietnamese fare apart from their delicious bread.

Beef Noodle Pho is the latest addition to the menu. Pho a type of Vietnamese soup, typically made from beef stock and spices to which noodles and thinly sliced beef or chicken are added. As I don't take beef, I didn't taste the noodle. But from the girls' feedback, it was good and delicious :D

Beef Noodle Pho: RM12.90

#MakanMakan Food Hunt: 10 Restaurants Must-try at 1Utama [Part 1]

Ever since I moved to PJ about 3 years ago, 1Utama has been my favourite shopping mall. The large shopping mall has everything I need!! And when it's time to feed my hunger or just to satisfy my craving for tea and dessert, it could really be a dilemma as there are just too many choices *.*

Fun Fact: Do you know, 1Utama is the World's 4th Largest Mall (by CNN)  ≧◡≦

So I was grateful that I had the chance to experience a gastronomical #MakanMakan Food Hunt at 1Utama :D There were 10 participating F&B outlets for this 1U #MakanMakan Food Hunt and we were to visit all 10 from 11am to 4pm. The outlets stretch from LG Food Street to 1F Highstreet, so basically we were exploring 1Utama from end-to-end, New Wing to Old Wing, in the 5 hour time frame @.@

LG Food Street: (1) Moo Cow Frozen Yogurt, (2) Little Fat Duck : Express Gourmet
LG Rainforest: (3) Nana's Green Tea
LG Highstreet: (4) Curry House CoCo Ichibanya, (5) MyeongDong Topokki, (6) O Banh Mi
GF Promenade: (7) Betjeman & Barton, (8) Quiznos Sub
1F Highstreet: (9) The Library Coffee Bar, (10) Bisou Bake Shop

I was very glad because most of the eateries would be first time experience for me :D Particularly Nana's Green Tea and Betjeman & Barton, because they are in my wishlist ever since I passed by the shops for the first time >v<

My Korean Trip Haul~ Part 1: Food, Snacks and Beverages

안녕 Annyeong~

I'm just back from trip to Seoul + Jeju recently, and there are so many interesting things I wanna share with you all :D :D

Yeah, food are expensive (one simple meal cost at least 7,000won per person, which is about RM24~), thus most of my exchanged Won goes to food T_T Luckily almost all restaurants provide free drinking water, thus can save from there *happy*

Food aside....let's see what have I bought from Korea and brought back to Malaysia :D Hopefully can give you an overview on what to include in your shopping list when you visit Korea? hehe ^_^

As I drafted this post, I found it becomes too long, so I shall split the post into 2, or maybe 3 parts :D

Presenting you the Part 1: Food, Snacks and Beverage (yum yum!!)

1) Binggrae Banana Milk

If you like milk, then this is a 'must try' milk in Korea. It tastes sweet and creamy, with a mild banana flavor. The Binggrae Banana Milk is very popular in Korea and you can easily get it at any mini mart like GS-25, 7- Eleven etc, at 1,300won per bottle...if you want more, can buy at Lotte Mart Seoul  Station for only 4,120won (if not mistaken), per carton of 4 bottles :D I like the milk so much I wish I could bring back many many cartons back home! But because it's liquid and it's milk, checking in with checked-in luggage may cause the milk spoilt :(

Living towards a Healthy Lifestyle - even when eating out at Mamak Stalls!!

Ever since I was diagnosed with a disease that need me to be on long term medications, I become more concern on health and well-being, especially on the food I consume. I am now very particular on the type of food I eat, and also be more cautious on the ingredients even in any medicines or supplements. I am also in the process of improving my lifestyle to a healthier one for the overall well-being of me...I would share with you progressively, and thus I have added a category 'Healthy Living' (instead of only ‘Marathon’)  to cover a wider scope on living towards a healthy lifestyle...erm, perhaps there's a better name than 'Healthy Living'? Share with me your suggestions (=^-ω-^=)

Recently, I read an article on how to eat healthily in a mamak stall...yes, mamak food stall!! Among the favourite gathering venue for Malaysians from all walks of life!! I used to be skeptical on the food I consumed at mamak stall as unhealthy, partly because I have always ordered maggi goreng (which is delicious yet can be very oily), the hot ayam goreng, the fluffy roti canai or roti telur with the appetizing kuah kari ikan and the savory nasi lemak with telur mata kerbau... For the past few months though, I have cut down trips to mamak stall and even stopped eating those heavenly-delicious-foodie-once-upon-a-time, and instead switch to thosai kosong and teh tarik kurang kurang manis (no, it’s not typo, I really order kurang kurang manis oh...)

An Afternoon Date over the Delectable High Tea

I'm pretty sure that everyone (ok, maybe not everyone, but almost everyone) has only praises to cakes, cookies and macarons at Delectable by Su....I'm a big fan of the cookies, hehe....and the high tea at Delectable Treats by Su which I get to enjoy during a blogger event in April was just too awesome that I have always keep this plan to bring my loved ones there one day...

Me being a busy woman, always delay this plan though....but not anymore cause I won the High Tea for 2 in October last year (proud)!!

In celebration with its achievement of 12,000 FB fans milestone, Delectable by Su was giving away a High Tea set for 2 for the first commenter on the post. Me being lucky as I was just on my iPad and logged in to FB and that was the first thing came out in my News Feed so very naturally I just commented and tada!!! I was announced as the winner later that afternoon \(^.^)/

I only went to redeem the High Tea set in late November; 24 November to be exact (I know...it was already a month after the winner announcement...busy mah...!!) I went with hb, as a treat for him for being so nice to me all this while lol...When we reached the Delectable Treats by Su at Paradigm Mall, hb was like...

What!!!

Sumptuous Breakfast at Amadeus Bistro & Wine Bar

The reason why I like group buying sites is probably the exposure of some dining outlets that I have never came across before...One such is the Amadeus Bistro & Wine Bar, an upbeat, contemporary European Bistro that serving some great European Cuisine. This dining spot offers a cosy, quiet refuge for patrons to have lunch, dinner, coffee, or just to chill out and have a chat with friends. Its food style includes French, Germany, Italian, Greek and Mediterranean.

I knew about Amadeus via Groupon Malaysia, where there was a 39% off for Breakfast Set for 2 people. This Breakfast Set is of RM33.80 total value (after discount is RM24) and comes with (for a group of 2):

✪ 2x assorted Danish pastries ✪
✪ 2x croissants ✪
✪ 2x servings of fresh bircher muesli ✪
✪ 2x glasses of fruit juice ✪
✪ 2x Main Entrée ✪
✪ 2x cups of freshly brewed coffee OR tea ✪
✪ 2x fruit yoghurt ✪

I think it's a good deal and therefore bought 3 vouchers (3 sets for 6 people)...I went there with my family about 2 months ago (I know, it's so long time ago, please bear with my super busy schedule lol) and we had an awesome breakfast there   ∩(︶▽︶)∩

CpMooN's Aglio Olio Pasta

All my life, I have never cooked a proper meal, other than instant food like Maggi Mee or Campbell Soup. I have the luxury to mom’s cooking every day when back from work, otherwise I would head to the nearest restaurant and cafe.

But I just bought an Electrolux induction cooker last weekend (after planning for 6 months!!!)…how can I not make use of it right? ^^

First dish that came to my mind was spaghetti....well, that's a very simple dish to prepare right?

And among carbonara, bolognese and aglio olio, my most preferred spaghetti dish is aglio olio...so I am going to cook spaghetti aglio olio my own style ^^

For those of you who haven't know, "aglio e olio" literally means "garlic and oil" in Italian, and spaghetti aglio olio is said to originate traditionally from the region of Abruzzo.

Anyway I'm sure you can easily find the information on the web...Let's just get started with this simple cooking~

Presenting you, the Spagetthi Aglio Olio ala CpMooN's Style

Starbucks Lucky Treat

I was merely helping my colleague to pay for the Starbucks via RHB Debit Card (because there was promotion buy 1 free 1 on every Fridays, until 31 December 2012; and only I have the RHB Debit Card)....then the barista 'surprised' me "Heh ya!!! You are our lucky customer today!!!"

Apparently Starbucks were having this promotional campaign to get the lucky patrons to do some customer experience survey on Starbucks. As a token of appreciation, the participants can redeem any beverage of tall size, within 14 days of the receipt date.

Yut Kee Roast Pork - Heaven!!

I was spring-cleaning my lappie when I came across some pictures taken during one of the many meals with my colleagues. And I have decided - Yut Kee Roast Pork was one of my best lunches on Fridays!!

Kedai Makanan Yut Kee has a very long history, dated back to 1928 if not mistaken. Located at Jalan Dang Wangi, the small restaurant offers many delicious food and is always full of customers...some of the popular dishes are Lum Mee, Hainanese Chicken Chop, Roti Babi (what a name!!), Baked Kaya Roll and many other chinese fried dishes.

Heck, the Roasted Pork Roll is still the best!! The roast pork set comes with potato wedges and mixed beans, made tastier by the rich and flavourful brown sauce. Mind you, it's not cheap though...one set costed RM17.50 the last time I had it :)

The pork roll is ready to be butchered
