Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra: Music from Anime

I was totally couldn't wait for yesterday night 😃😃😃

The Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) is presenting a concert; Music from Anime, that features the wonderful music from the most popular works from three iconic Japanese anime composers; Takashi Miki, Joe Hisaishi and Hiroshi Miyagawa; that span from 25 May to 27 May 2018, for 3 timing shows.

Joe Hisaishi is no stranger to Studio Ghibli fans worldwide. Known for his musical versatility that fuses Japanese classical, Western classical, experimental electronic and minimalist, Joe Hisaishi has composed many of the Studio Ghibli animation soundtracks, including those from "Princess Mononoke", "My Neighbor Totoro", and the Oscar-winning "Spirited Away".

Having grown up with masterpiece films from Studio Ghibli and also been listening to the "Studio Ghibli 25 years Concert" conducted by Joe Hisaishi for countless of times on DVD and YouTube (omg you should totally listen to this concert! It is the most amazing and wonderful concert that I can listen to over and over again), I just couldn't let go the opportunity to listen to live orchestra music from Studio Ghibli! 🎶🎷🎹🎺🎻

The fact that I only knew about this concert 3 days ago despite the tickets have been selling since last year has kind of made me feel upset and aggrieved. It was almost sold out for all sessions and left only some 'Premium' seats and limited number of 'A Reserve' seats. Luckily though, I was able to get an 'A Reserve' seat for the 25 May show, at concession rate for being a MAS Enrich member (15% discount!) 😅

Yi Sheng Suo Ai - Shu Qi (一生所爱 - 舒淇)

Journey to the West: Conquering the Demons (Theme)

昨天今天过去不再回来
Zuo tian jin tian guo qu bu zai hui lai
红颜落下色彩变苍白
Hong yan luo xia se cai bian cang bai
从前直到现在 爱还在
Cong qian zhi dao xian zai ai hai zai
愿去等你漂泊 白云外
Yuan qu deng ni piao po bai yun wai

*
痛爱 让人悲哀
Tong ai rang ren bei ai
在世上 命运不能更改
Zai shi shang ming yun bu neng geng gai
放开 不能再相爱
Fang kai bu neng zai xiang ai
难道这是 上天的安排
Nan dao zhe shi shang tian de an pai

情人离去永远不回来
Qing ren li qu yong yuan bu hui lai
无言无语叹息爱不再
Mo yan mo yu tan xi ai bu zai
虽然花会零落
Sui ran hua hui ling luo
但会重开
Dan hui zhong kai
恍如隔世的爱 在白云外
Huang ru ge shi de ai zai bai yun wai

Repeat *

A Thousand Years by Christina Perri

I was at hubby's colleague's wedding dinner when I first heard of this song. This song was used as the photo montage background music of the beautiful couple's wedding day....immediately it made me felt warm and sappy hearing the song...what's more, it's for a wedding video!! My heart melt right away omg...!!

I was determined to find out the song title...I can't remember how exactly I found out, but months later I realized that the song is titled "A Thousand Years", voiced by Christina Perri. In fact, it is from the album "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 1: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack", lol...me not a Twilight fan, so pardon me :P :P

Review by a critic: "Initially, it sounds just a bit sappy and even a bit twee, however, stick with it and as the Waltz time begins to sway more and more the song moves into a bridge that is stunningly gorgeous. It then melts back down into a gentle place before sweeping along into a pleasing conclusion."

Wish more beautiful songs like this....♥♥

Ashley Tisdale's Kiss The Girl....

Couldn't sleep the whole night, so I browsed the YouTube and came across the video clip of Ashley Tisdale (of High School Musical fame), singing the remake of "Kiss The Girl"...

Actually, I have watched the videoclip before... The first time I heard the song, I was like...Wow...!! What a superb performance!! The slow tempo song suddenly become one of the most happening (and rockish!!) song in the town....I eventually saved the song and since then everytime I listen to the song it never fails to cheer me up and brighten my day :D

Well, I have always loved Disney cartoon movies... some of my favourites including Cinderella, Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and the most unforgetable one, The Lion King... Then come the 3D movies, but I have always cherished Monster Inc. only... and maybe The Incredibles...

Sometimes, I miss the 2D cartoon movies... wondering if there is ever a new established one, as the industry is moving towards to 3D nowadays...

Life is still Beautiful because there is Love...

Sometimes, life is cruel...no matter how hard we work for something, things don't always fall into our favour...felt that, overcame that, yet...new ordeal always there...

But at times, I do feel that no matter what happen, I still have love...that other things do not matter anymore, or, that it's worthwhile to move forward no matter how tough the journey would be...

I came across this song, "Laskar Pelangi" by Nidji from a friend's blog, and I really love it...it urges us not to give up although life is sometimes unfair, and to smile and stay happy although life is not as beautiful as in heaven, because we still have the power of love in this world...

I felt calm and relaxed whenever I listen to this song, therefore I hope I can share this song and spread the happiness to all.... good day :)

Update @ 8 January 2013:
I just discovered that this song "Laskar Pelangi" was actually from an Indonesian movie with the same title. "Laskar Pelangi" literally means 'The Rainbow Troops', and that the movie was based on a novel by Andrea Hirata.

The movie is on a group of 10 schoolboys and their two inspirational teachers as they struggle with poverty and develop hopes for the future in Gantong Village on the farming and tin mining island of Belitung. The movie has apparently won many awards, locally and internationally.

You can get more info here - the language is in Malay though:
