My First Craft in 2020 - DIY Minnie Headband

So I have an event last Saturday, with the theme being "Mickey and Minnie". The theme was probably picked in conjunction with the Year of Rat this year. 🐭

Having never been to Disneyland before (one fine day I would be there!), I didn't have the Mickey or Minnie ears where you can get one at Disneyland.

So for the past 2 weeks or so I searched Lazada to see if I were able to get one online. Well, most merchants offer delivery between 10-14 days but the event was less than 2 weeks away then! I certainly do not want to take the risk of late delivery.

XIXILI Ladies' Party at KL Sogo - Girls just wanna have Fun :D

Last Saturday afternoon (31 October 2015) was a fun afternoon for me. I attended the XIXILI Ladies' Party at KL Sogo, which was held from 12.30 to 3.30pm. It was the first time I attended a XIXILI party, or a lingerie brand party to be precise, and I wished I had went to the many parties organised by XIXILI before!

I was supposed to attend with Mom, but unfortunately she couldn't make it at the very last minute. So I went alone worrying whether I would get bored in the 3 hours time, but I think I worried too much; XIXILI organised the best ladies' party ever! o(^∀^*)o

So, all these years I shopped at Sogo, I didn't know there's this 'Promotion Corner' which serves great as event space at the 1F Ladies Gallery ヽ(^◇^*)/ It's near to a shoes brand's gallery (I didn't notice the shoe brand though) Probably because it's quite hidden and that I also seldom frequent that corner?

Look Pretty and Professional with Dresses Appropriate for Work Place

Who says that office wear shall only consists of business shirts and pants or mid length skirts? While I used to think that is the only acceptable office fashion when I just started to work (no thanks to the influence of TV and printed media who always show women in business suits to depict woman power), gradually very soon, I retired from just business shirts and instead prefer to wear dresses to work....and look pretty (ღ˘⌣˘ღ) Because wearing the plain old suits and shirts might get a little boring so why not doll up with some magnificent dresses. ( ˘͈ ᵕ ˘͈♡)˚๐*˟ ♡

Well, not all types of dresses are suitable to be worn at the workplace, especially if working in a professional setting environment. While many of us love to experiment various looks in order to find the ones which reveal our personality, it's necessary to be mindful on the function, occasion and audience. For women who are unsure of what types of dresses appropriate to be worn to work, let's check out these three amazing dresses that are pretty and feminine, and perfect for workplace at the same time (๑′ᴗ‵๑)

Bodycon Dress

Reveal that sexy yet sophisticated side at work wearing a nice bodycon dress which hugs your curves in the right places. You can still appear professional in a bodycon dress but choose colour such as black, white and pastels for that feminine but confident look.

Tiamo "Basic ♥ Fun ♥ Feminine" Collection, every girl's BFF

To many of us, 'BFF' means 'Best Friend Forever'. To Tiamo, 'BFF' means 'Basic ♥ Fun ♥ Feminine'.

I kinda like the definition too. Because in order to be a 'BFF', she has to be someone who has all the basic human values, and is someone who I find fun in her, be it during happy or sad times. In other words, our BFF is usually a close friend, where the friendship is characterized by intimacy, trust and a sense of permanence (definition from Wiki).

I guess that is what Tiamo wanted when they came out with the BFF collection, that every girl treat the bags like BFF...because BFF is after all about good friends and good shopping :D

From Tiamo website:
BFF collection is an exclusive online collection by Tiamo featuring a new range of bags that comes in a variety range of color to suit the uprising young executive. We promise there will always be unending choices awaiting you and your BFF to suit your personality and unique style. You can now strut in style at an affordable price without compromising style.

With our philosophy, we provide you and your BFF unending selection of bags ranging form the basic everyday use to unending variety colors while showcasing the femininity of a woman.

Good Sandals -- you can't have too many!!!

I went to a shoe brand warehouse clearance sale recently. I have hoped to buy a new pair of sandals, that are suitable for work (my company dress code is smart casual), and also suitable for weekend outings. You see, I love wearing sandals so much that 3 pairs of my sandals are worn out or torn, thus buying a new pair just comes naturally.

And from the clearance sale, I bought 6 pairs of shoes, but none were sandals. I wonder why there were no sandals on sale!! So now I have many new pairs of shoes (ballerina flats, kitten heels, loafer) yet none were sandals, and so I need to go yet another shopping trip (which I have done few rounds but came back instead with new dresses, cosmetics, magazines etc but no sandals) But hey, you can't have too many shoes, right?

Anyway....if you are wondering why I still want a pair of sandals, that is because sandals are the most comfortable thing to wear...they let my feet 'breathe', and unlike court shoes, they don't hurt my feet, especially at toes part...sandals, like this one below, basically provide comfort to me feet :D And a little heel, about 4.5cm, is just nice to elevate my overall height a little, and at the same time practical for everyday wear.

Spring is here!!! And if you haven't know, May is the fashion month for Sunway Pyramid ^_^ It was named as "Fashion Confectionery" -- what a cute and candy-licious name!!! Me as the Cinderella of Havaianas Summer Kit (๑>◡<๑)

It's April!!! And the summer is coming in less than 3 months time!!! Sun, sea, sand, bikini....and what else....???

Of course the flip flops and towel....and not just any flip flops and towel....it is the flip flops with a pin-up girl illustration and a matching towel!!!! And that’s exactly what's in Havaianas’ limited edition Collectible Summer Kit!!!

Yup yup yup!!! The much-loved holiday footwear just got trendier by featuring pin-up illustrations of beautiful girls by world-renowned American illustrator, Gil Elvgren o(≧∇≦o) I know, it's super awesome!!!!

Who is Gil Elvgren???

Gil Elvgren (March 15, 1914-February 29, 1980), born Gillette Elvgren, was an American painter of pin-up girls, advertising and illustration. During his active years from the 1930s to 1970s, his clients ranged from Brown & Bigelow and Coca-Cola to General Electric and Sealy Mattress Company. In addition, during the 1940s and 1950s, he illustrated stories for a host of magazines, such as The Saturday Evening Post and Good Housekeeping.

Why I never like buying clothes online...thus far...

Today's consumers have become savvier, aren't they? "Money can buy happiness" or "Have money, will spend" have become the mantra for retail therapy for clothes and footwear very often. Bummer, I know!! But hey, with the boom of online shopping sites, shopping has become very easy-peasy. Just know your size, choose your items, make your payment and voila!! Sit back and relax at home, and wait for your parcel to arrive. No more queuing to try out clothes, or tailing by those nosy salespeople. Just pure indulgence without burning a drop of the ever-increasing fuel...really?? I'm not so sure about buying clothes online though...

I bought clothes online before too, few years ago. Then I avoided online shopping. I think I have forgotten the reason? Since a year ago, I tend to occasionally question myself as to why I never buy clothes online. I see friends and bloggers doing it. Some bloggers even have that advertisement space in their blogs for the online shops, or model clothes for the online shops. I in fact subscribed to a few favourite online shops newsletters because I like their pretty and cute dresses. So why I'm still unsure about online shopping for clothes? ┐(‘~`;)┌

I was reminded why I avoid it, though, upon a recent purchase at Pink N Proper ("PNP" hereinafter).

Remember my entry in order to win an invite to this Sparty? I made a video that incorporated my imagination of the party ambiance, like this...

I have amended a little bit from the original creation though, due to change in the list of the collaborators... anyway, guess what, the Sparty happened to be almost the same like the above illustration haha...the services were arranged station by station just like the above...each of us was given a set of coupons to redeem a service: Manicure, Mask, Massage, Pedicure and Facial...

Well, before I bring you to a tour of all the stations, let's have a peek on what's inside and what was happening on that exciting afternoon  (*⌒∇⌒*)

The Look for The Butterfly Project's Spa Party

Remember the post where I gave my 3 big reasons why I want to attend The Butterfly Project's Spa Party?

Guess what, my wish was granted ^_^

And the dress code for the Spa Party a.k.a. Sparty? It's bathrobe and flip flop....

I have all the stuff in tact, except bathrobe (aww, why the most important thing >.<")...days before the Sparty, I went to Sogo during lunch hour to look for a bathrobe at its newly renovated 'Home & Living' department...but I couldn't find one at all...there are quite a number of mannequins wearing bathrobes, but none of the bathrobes are for sale  /(;-_-) The bathrobes are really meant for display and decoration only....Then I went to Isetan and Parkson as well, but the bathrobes on sale are damn so expensive like more than RM200 per piece  ヘ(;´Д`ヘ) (why so expensive????!!!!) Walked whole day at MidValley and 1Utama, couldn't find also, aih.... (or my mind was blind already couldn't see one even just in front? lol...)

Luckily on the very last day before the Sparty, I found A LOT at Giant Hypermarket while doing my grocery...nothing fancy, but there are so many colors to choose from...Finally I bought the color aqua blue, to match my flip flop  ( ̄▽ ̄)ノ

My Bridal Affair with Tom Wedding City

Bridal shops and wedding services business are really blooming these few years, as many couples are now more willing to pay a bomb for that special occasion. Some spent more than 10k for the PS, and some went abroad to Bali, Korea, Perth, Taiwan etc for the scenery as a backdrop to their pictures....wow...

As for me and my fh? We signed up a bridal package in January 2011 during a bridal fair at MidValley Megamall, without doing much research and have no idea on the plenty of choices we could have consider. Well, I think our impulsiveness was due to the thought that our wedding would be in the same year...

Anyway, we signed up with the first booth right in front of the entrance, Tom Wedding City (TOM = The Only Match), where the BS is actually located at Jalan Loke Yew...the staff that served us, Lily, was actually the MUA for the BS...because we were so 'naive' on wedding stuff that time, we didn't negotiate much but just listen and nod our heads, swiped the card and signed on the dotted lines without negotiating for extra =.=" Lily told us that since we were the first couple to sign up on that faithful day, we were given discount RM1k, so our package cost RM3k only...till now I'm not sure if she was just trying to make us feel lucky and also as a persuasion strategy lol, because I know the normal package at Tom Wedding City is also around RM3k only...

As our wedding postponed to October 2012, so do our pre-wedding PS. It finally happened in April 2012, after many phone calls by SA Helen to remind us lol...Helen talked very sweetly on the phone that it made me feel comfortable, haha good job...during our first meet-up, Helen told us that Lily has resigned from Tom, so we would be assigned another MUA...doesn't matter to me lah, haha...

So my SA is Helen, MUA is Jacquelyn and PG is CM...and album designer is Bing...our package costs us more than RM3.5k after upgrade, excluding miscellaneous such as fake eyelashes, ampoule, hairspray, nude bra and white wing collar shirt, which were sold at very marked-up price =.=" and we only got the basic usual stuff oh since we didn't negotiate much...

Note: Pictures below are not the actual album design...the BS didn't give us the design soft copies... Helen told me that the design would be additional RM30 per page =.="

This is our first image for the Tom exclusive themed shooting. I chose the dress during the gown fitting day, but not the background and setting. The setting that I chose should be dim lit and has flowers around...I'm not sure why the setting was changed without consulting us, and even worse I didn't voice out the wrong setting...stupid me...We chose 5 pictures only for this image, as many of the picture outcomes were really not nice and I looked really 'weird' from some angles...
