Travelling from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore by Driving A Car

Two years ago when my little brother had to travel to Singapore for a business and a few of us grabbed the chance to visit the country for fun, we decided to drive instead since driving would be more economical than flying for a group of 5. Having no experience of driving to the Little Red Dot (well, we travelled by road to Singapore before but that was like 30 years ago lol), we did a few internet searches and asked here and there of what we should know beforehand; yet nothing beats our personal experience. It's actually not as daunting as we thought; instead it was easier than what we have anticipated :D

Recently, we drove to Singapore again and my memory kinds of refreshed again of the 'process' to drive Singapore from Kuala Lumpur, which took about 4-hour journey. I think it's good to share my experience with all and hope it's a good guide to first-timer!

WHAT TO PREPARE BEFORE DRIVING INTO SINGAPORE?

Well-maintained Car
I definitely do not want my car to break down in the middle of highway or in Singapore; I'm sure you are too! So ensure your car is in roadworthy condition by sending your car to workshop for check and service, days before your departure day.

Touch n' Go with Sufficient Credit
Wherever you are travelling from West Malaysia, ensure your TnG has sufficient credit to pay the tolls (i.e. PLUS Highway) to reach Singapore AND back to your home location when you leave Singapore.
It's no fun to queue long at the top-up booth which would be wasting a lot of time. Not only the PLUS highway, there's also a short expressway within JB - Lebuhraya EDL that charges toll fee.

Get the best out of Pos Malaysia Postal Solutions for Parcels

Update @13 Nov 2016:
Pos Malaysia and Pos Laju has increased the price for FlexiPack and Pos Laju services...as I do not have time to update the post yet, please do refer to their websites for latest pricing...thanks :)

=======================================================================================
Update @8 March 2017:
Did a random internet search on Flexipack and stumbled upon a blogpost, in Bahasa Melayu, directly translated from my this post. With no notification to me, with no credit whatsoever.
As a seasoned blogger with integrity, I always ensure my blogpost is original and produced by myself; my writings, my ideas, my opinions, my thoughts etc. If I had to borrow other's information, I will give all credit duly to the material owner.

=======================================================================================

While many people complaining about the service of Pos Malaysia every now and then, I have been a satisfied customer of the parcel delivery services offered by Pos Malaysia. Since 2014 when I started to sell my unused and unwanted stuff online at dirt cheap prices, Pos Malaysia has been my trust-able delivery partner. (▰˘◡˘▰)

Being an avid user of the Pos Malaysia parcel delivery services, I have also came to being familiar with most of its postal solutions. It's an advantage to be knowledgeable because then you can make the right decision on which postal solutions that best suit your needs. Almost all the time I went to post office, there would be at least two or three persons inquiring about parcel delivery and would get confused due to the various options available.

But you don't have to be the confused person. I'm going to share here the comparison between some of the postal solutions for parcels that I commonly used, and my personal reviews and experiences of using them. (◑‿◐)

Pos Laju

Pos Laju is the national courier that offers affordable price in courier services. You can either pack the items yourself and pay according to the weight and destination, or you can also opt for the Prepaid Envelopes (or Boxes, if you have bigger or heavier items), or referred to as 'Prabayar'.

How to remove nail strips easily and hassle-free ~

Hola~

I hope you have enjoyed the recent Chinese New Year holidays. And did you make use of the tutorial to apply nail strips? I hope you did and have had beautiful nails to show off to your friends during the CNY gatherings ^_^

Yesterday, I tried to remove the bloop nail strips which have been on my nails for more than a week. Then I realized I didn't include any steps on how to remove the nail strips in the same post on how to apply nail strips lol...so here I am sharing with you on how I remove the nail strips, the easiest way :D :D

Before that, let's understand a little bit on the nail strips. As we all know, the nail strips are stuck to nails because of the glue beneath. So when we want to remove the nail strips, it's actually removing the glue that sticks the nail strips to nails. And removing glue is always easier with warm water :D

Let's nail it! with bloop Nail Strips -- my first attempt yo... :D

Hi Hi!!!

Today I'm going to share my very first tutorial on applying nail art strips!!! :D :D

Now now....I want to make a disclaimer here first...I'm not really an expert in nail beauty or nail art, but have always been fascinated with oh-my-gosh how did they diy their nails sooooo pretty???!!! I've previously spent on manicure pedicure package at Kamar Emas Sogo and I gotta tell you it's not cheap!! And the time there always made me wanna sleep (because the session can lasts up to 3 hours =.=") I've since stopped going there after my package ended...that was like, 2 years ago?

Since then I have never visited any nail parlour. Oh wait...does the mani pedi at Posh! counted lol? I also seldom do mani pedi at home. But I still like to see nail art so much!! I always admire nail designs posted online and longing to be able to diy my nail art too...

But but...I can make it a reality now :D :D With nail strip, it's really easy to have beautiful nails too!! I'd show you how here, but please pardon me if my work is not nice lol...In fact, this is my first attempt on nail strips lol (but already bercita-cita besar wanna share with you all how to do it haha) So, my demo could be wrong here and there, therefore please do feedback!! I always welcome constructive criticism (^.^)

pardon my 'naked' face >.<

CpMooN's Aglio Olio Pasta

All my life, I have never cooked a proper meal, other than instant food like Maggi Mee or Campbell Soup. I have the luxury to mom’s cooking every day when back from work, otherwise I would head to the nearest restaurant and cafe.

But I just bought an Electrolux induction cooker last weekend (after planning for 6 months!!!)…how can I not make use of it right? ^^

First dish that came to my mind was spaghetti....well, that's a very simple dish to prepare right?

And among carbonara, bolognese and aglio olio, my most preferred spaghetti dish is aglio olio...so I am going to cook spaghetti aglio olio my own style ^^

For those of you who haven't know, "aglio e olio" literally means "garlic and oil" in Italian, and spaghetti aglio olio is said to originate traditionally from the region of Abruzzo.

Anyway I'm sure you can easily find the information on the web...Let's just get started with this simple cooking~

Presenting you, the Spagetthi Aglio Olio ala CpMooN's Style

Have you always feel frustrated when looking for easy-to-use image editing software that able to remove the background of a picture?

But today I discovered one great tool in MS Office 2010, that I just have to share with all ^^

Take this picture for example...So how do I use MS Office 2010 to remove the background, and only retain the house (the subject)?

Curling Hair with Sponge Curler

As I did not book any make up artist for my wedding reception at Bagan Serai, I was looking for simple DIY hairstyling on the web. Then I saw this key-shaped sponge curler on a website of an online shop. Among benefits it claims are you can sleep with it overnight since it's very soft, and that it curls hair without heat so it is not damaging the hair.

But the price was not cheap. RM20 for a spongee thingy?? No way....I have to let it go...

Then one fine day while shopping at the AEON (formerly Jusco) pharmacy, I saw the same product on the display rack...and it was darn cheap at only RM6.90!!!!

So I took one pack and made my payment.

Puzzle #2: 1 11 21 ?

Yeah, you read it right... the puzzle starts like this: 1 11 21 ?

So what is the next number?

Ok, to give you one more clue: 1 11 21 1211 ?

Still not getting it? How about: 1 11 21 1211 111221 ?

Hecks, I can go on and on...but based on my experience, most people cannot figure out the pattern of the numbers, thus could not get the answer...

Puzzle #1: Move 3 matchsticks to make 3 squares

Today, a few good friends and I decided to have our lunch at Bubba Gump at The Curve...while waiting for our yummy meal to be served, one of the waitresses had our IQ challenged!!

The waitress arranged 12 matchsticks as shown below:

The challenge: Move 3 matchsticks to make 3 same size squares
Reward: One glass of bottomless softdrinks

We stared at the matchsticks, tried and error, but not long after that our meal were served...which indicated the end time for solving the puzzle....

Not satisfied, I kept thinking the puzzle and eureka!!! It was not that difficult actually, and I don't understand why I need so much time...in fact, I almost got it at the first place!!

Update @29 July 2012: Added new puzzle: Number Sequence Puzzle
